Pittsboro

Pittsboro sits about 35–45 minutes southwest of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Historically a small courthouse town with deep agricultural roots, it is now one of the fastest-growing communities in central North Carolina, with 25,000 homes set to be built in the coming years.

As the community continues to grow and change, the need for healthy, gospel-centered churches is increasing.  At present, there are no PCA churches directly serving the Pittsboro community.

Throughout the New Testament, the primary strategy for the spread of Christianity was the planting of local churches. Church planting is one of the most effective ways to reach people with the hope of the gospel and to disciple them in the faith.

Living Hope Presbyterian Church

In order to meet that need for healthy, gospel-centered churches, Living Hope Presbyterian is being planted in Pittsboro by Eastern Carolina Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).  Pastor Jono Darville was called by the presbytery as the church planting pastor for Living Hope Presbyterian in January 2026 while he was still serving as Pastor of Youth at Peace Presbyterian in Cary.  He has now transitioned to church planting full time.

Church planting is a family endeavor.  Jono is joined by his wife, Jillian, and their two children, Jono and Haddie.  As a family, the Darvilles enjoy spending time with friends and family and are passionate about seeing the hope of the gospel take root in the growing community of Pittsboro.
